state is a new gallery located in the San Francisco Mission district. It shares its space with its parent company FRAMEWORK, a creative communications agency. We are seeking interns who want to gain experience in both professional gallery practices, as well as marketing and PR basics. Intern assignments will fluctuate between the gallery and the agency in order to give hands-on, practical experience working in the creative industry.  

 

The ideal candidate will have a deep interest in art, culture, design and media. Interns will be tasked with both administrative and challenging assignments requiring creativity, dexterity and a good sense of humor. This is an unpaid position requiring 10 hours per week (over the course of two days a week) and at least a three month commitment.

 

Duties include:

  • Assist artists with exhibition installation

  • Assist with exhibition deinstallation

  • Assist during events and exhibition openings

  • Event submissions to arts, culture and entertainment calendars

  • Organize art inventory and storage

  • Marketing and sales research

  • Update gallery and agency websites as needed

  • Create content for websites, blogs and social media

  • Compile all press clippings for coverage reports at the end of campaigns

  • Evernote/Basecamp
